Getting support for your child

Children might need help for many reasons; they could be struggling with school, relationships, behaviour, friendships, bullying, confidence, anxiety, withdrawal or anger; they might find it difficult to talk about what it is they are feeling, and may not have the vocabulary to express themselves verbally.

Some of the issues children present with might be complicated by a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autistic Syndrome Disorder (ASD), which can create barriers to learning and to developing positive friendships with their peer group, which negatively impacts on an already fragile positive sense-of-self.

I provide an initial parent interview followed by an assessment process and then therapy, interventions could be short or long-term,.

I believe that it is best for therapy to be face-to-face with children, rather than online, however parent interviews can take place face-to-face, or on Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

I ensure confidentiality in the treatment of what is brought to sessions by the child. It contributes to a sense of safety and trust.
